- At Fusion Cycles We Have A True Passion For Bicycles -
Lewis Almonte, Sales Manager
Lewis born and raised in NYC comes from a family of talented bicycle racers. His father raced in his native Dominican Republic throughout the 80's and early 90's, and his older bother also races locally at the pro-am level. With bicycles being a family tradition at age 14 he decides to follow in his fathers and brothers foot steps and take up bicycle racing. Rising rather quickly through the ranks, before his 17th birthday he had already been ranked as NY state top junior racer and reached the category 2 level. Racing throughout the most of the USA, Canada, and Dominican Republic and being part of some of NYC most prestigious teams like GS Mengoni and Foundation Cycling. This also helped pave the way for a college scholarship as a member of the Lindsey Wilson College racing team in Kentucky. His love and passion for bicycles mixed with his great charisma makes him a great guy to help you out with any of your bicycle needs.
Luis Aquino, Head Mechanic
Luis first got introduced to the world of cycling at the young age of 12. He began racing BMX with his local club in the Dominican Republic eventually making the jump to racing on the road and track a few years later. After plenty of success on the road including a stage win in his native country's biggest race, La Vuelta Independencia, Luis finally decided to embark on a bigger journey and head for the USA. Upon his arrival in New York City he really began to master his craft as a bicycle mechanic. That did not stop him from competing in the local Pro 1/2 races, claiming the top spot in the 2006 NYC Spring Series and taking second place honors in 2007 and 2008. In 2010 taking a hiatus from racing he decided to focus on work, family and living the American dream. Luis's wrenching skills are just as good as his riding skills. When it comes down to it he can do it all. Just bring your bike by and see!
